Here's what we were working with - a garage that had no real approach to speak of. Just sod and ground right up to the doors. Not ideal when you're trying to pull in and out regularly, and it only gets messier after rain. The fix was straightforward, but it had to be done right.

We stripped the sod, cut the area down, and leveled everything out before bringing in the material. That prep work is what most people don't see, but it's what separates a surface that holds up from one that shifts and ruts out within a year. No shortcuts on the base.

For the surface, we finished it with granite stone and fines. That combination is a solid choice for a garage approach - the fines fill in the gaps between the stone, which gives you a tighter, more stable surface underfoot and under tire. It packs down well, drains properly, and doesn't kick up loose rock the way a coarser gravel will.

The end result is a clean, functional pad that ties right into the existing concrete apron at the street. It's the kind of work that looks simple but makes a real difference in how usable the space is day to day. Better access, better drainage, better appearance - all from one straightforward driveway construction job.

Whether you need a full garage approach built from scratch or just want to clean up an existing gravel pad, this is the kind of work we do all the time. Good prep, good material, and a surface that's actually built to last.
